IMPLANT BRIDGES
Diane is a middle-aged woman
who wore a complete denture for many years but wished to have
a fixed implant alternative. eight implants were placed and
porcelain-to-gold bridgework was secured to the implants by
screws. This treatment modality provided Diane with the closest
situation of returning her to her original natural teeth. She
was treated in 1984 and is still doing well today.
At the time Diane was treated
over 20 years ago, she had to wear a temporary denture while
the implants integrated to her upper jaw bone. Today, the "teeth
in an hour" treatment would allow her to have a fixed bridge
right away and not have to wear a denture for the six months
after her implant placement.
This type of treatment is possible
to replace 2 or more, or all the teeth.
